Over 21 million Veterans are living in America today. One out of every four Americans is a Veteran. These men and women carry experiences from their military service that present unique healthcare challenges. At St. Elizabeth Hospice, our expert team of caretakers are equipped in assisting veterans with these unique needs at end-of-life. As a partner of the We Honor Veterans Program, an initiative between the U.S. Veterans Administration, and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, the St. Elizabeth Hospice team is able to care for veterans and provide them with a better quality of life.
Hospice provides services that relieve suffering and help control symptoms in a way that respects your personal, cultural, and religious beliefs and practices. Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team overseen by Board-certified Hospice and Palliative Care physicians. This team works directly with the patient, their family members and caregivers, to provide care for the whole person in mind, body and spirit.
Annual Veteran Appreciation Event
St. Elizabeth Hospice hosts our Annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon on the first Monday in November, each year.
U.S. Veterans of all ages and a guest are invited to attend this free, community event. Beginning with an educational resource fair, organizations will have the opportunity to provide information regarding veteran benefits and services in our community. The program also includes a Presentation of Colors, military ceremonies and traditions, local speakers, military music and a complimentary lunch.
Registration for this event opens each year in mid-July. For more information about this event, please contact Natalie Ciulla at firstname.lastname@example.org or (859) 301-7878.
