St. Elizabeth Healthcare Honored with Advanced ICU Care Awards

Edgewood, KY – Benita Anderson, St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas and Florence Chief Nursing Officer, and a partnership of the Clinical Engineering and Information Technology departments were each selected as recipients of the 2019 I See You Care awards presented by Advanced ICU Care, the nation’s leading provider of high-acuity telemedicine services.

Now in its fourth year, the recognition highlights outstanding collaboration between on-premise care staff and Advanced ICU Care’s intensivist-led remote critical care team – to the end of providing the gold standard of care to the hospital’s most critically ill patient population. Ms. Anderson was selected among nominees from almost 90 Advanced ICU Care partner hospitals and their employees throughout the United States.

“Partnering with Advanced ICU Care has allowed St. Elizabeth Healthcare to elevate our ability to provide our most critically ill patients with constant support,” said Ms. Anderson. “I am honored to receive this year’s I See You Care award in recognition of tele-ICU collaboration to achieve outstanding patient care.”

“We are thrilled to receive this award,” said Terry Teipel, St. Elizabeth Director of Clinical Engineering. “Working closely with Advanced ICU Care enables us to have immediate access to a provider for our most acute, critically ill patients, to perform at our best and ultimately to improve overall patient care.”

“Working alongside Advanced ICU Care allows us to provide around-the-clock care to our critical patients,” said John Proud, St. Elizabeth Director of Information Technology Infrastructure. “It’s an honor to receive the I See You Care award.”

Ms. Anderson was recognized in a ceremony on April 22. The Clinical Engineering and Information Technology teams were recognized in a ceremony on April 25. Both were also honored with a donation in their names to the St. Elizabeth Foundation.

Established in 2016, the I See You Care award honors Advanced ICU Care tele-ICU partners for their efforts in caring for patients, collaborating across geography and leveraging telehealth to make a profound difference with respect to quality, safety and access within their hospital for the surrounding community. This year, Advanced ICU Care expanded the number of award recognitions to now include executive, respiratory therapist and IT/technology recognition.

“Working in collaboration with Advanced ICU Care has afforded our organization the ability to elevate the bedside team’s capability to provide our most critically ill patients with around-the-clock care,” said Gary Blank, St. Elizabeth Chief Operating Officer. “We are honored that both Benita Anderson and the technology teams were recognized with this year’s I See You Care award in recognition of their outstanding performance contribution to truly collaborative care.”

“At Advanced ICU Care, successful care team collaboration with our partner hospitals serves as the cornerstone of our mutual successes,” said Lou Silverman, Chairman and CEO of Advanced ICU Care. “In bestowing Benita Anderson and the St. Elizabeth Clinical Engineering and Information Technology teams with this year’s I See You Care award, we are recognizing a partner and team who truly emphasize a
commitment to patient-centered care and outcomes-based initiatives to benefit the patients, families, care teams and hospitals that we serve together.”

In all, the 2019 I See You Care awards honored 11 recipients for their individual, team and facility-wide dedication to delivering, in collaboration with Advanced ICU Care, the best of critical care to the patients they serve.
