Hip pain can keep you from the activities you love and stop you from doing routine tasks. You don’t have to live with hip pain. The St. Elizabeth Healthcare Orthopaedic team is working together to provide you the most innovative, state-of-the-art technology for hip surgeries available in Northern Kentucky.

You don’t need to suffer with hip pain until you need a hip replacement. With today’s technology, we help preserve your hip longer with minimally invasive hip arthroscopy. When you are ready for a hip replacement, we use advanced technology to improve results and reduce the risks associated with surgery.

Hip Arthroscopy with Pivot Guardian Distraction System

An innovative surgical table is changing the way you experience hip arthroscopy. Pivot Guardian Distraction System is designed to minimize complications after hip arthroscopy and improve the surgeon’s ability to access your injured hip.

Hip arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure to diagnose and treat a wide-range of hip problems including:

  • Hip impingement
  • Labral tears
  • Bursitis
  • Tendon repairs
  • Loose cartilage from a fall or injury

The innovative surgical table resembles an exercise machine to precisely hold and position you. What this table is missing, makes all the difference. Most tables used in hip surgery have a post positioned between the patient’s legs, in the groin area.

Benefits of the post-free table include:

  • Fewer complications such as skin tears, nerve damage or total groin numbness that can last for several weeks or longer.
  • Innovative boot design to stabilize your leg and allow for better hip positioning.
  • Improved field of vision for the surgeon to more precisely access your hip.

Hip Replacement with Radlink GPS

If you have tried everything to help alleviate your hip pain and it hasn’t worked, a total hip replacement may be your best option. Our goal is to get you back to moving again, with less pain. The difference at St. Elizabeth is we use advanced procedures and new technology, such as Radlink GPS to improve results and reduce risks associated with hip replacement surgery.

Radlink GPS provides more accurate measurements for placing the new hip components, which means a better fit, more natural feel and less risk for pain and weakness.

There are different hip replacement options. Our surgeons typically perform hip replacement surgery from the front of the thigh (anterior hip replacement), which is minimally invasive and allows for faster healing. You may be a candidate for same-day surgery or your condition may require a one-two night hospital stay. You and your surgeon will talk about which option is best for you.
