Trying to lose weight? Consider this St. Elizabeth program

You’ve tried every diet and enrolled in every fitness class, but you’re still not seeing the results that you want?

Maybe it’s time to try a medical weight loss program through St. Elizabeth’s Weight Management Center.

That’s what Theresa, a local woman who lost 130 pounds, did, and according to Local 12, she found a whole new way of life.

Teresa enrolled in a medically supervised weight loss program.

Dr. Troy Schumann, the doctor who worked with Teresa, had his own weight loss journey, and Teresa enjoyed working with someone who understood the day-to-day struggles. Both said there were a lot of steps along the way and the most important thing was that the journey had to continue, likely for life.

“Some people need weight loss yesterday and not tomorrow,” said Schumann. “We may gear toward all meal replacements to lower insulin, lower blood sugar levels, and get better control of that disease.”

But Teresa said the real secret to her success was her care team, a partnership with nutrition expert Karah Stanley, as well as Dr. Schumann.

“Our goal is really to help people make changes in a more balanced way so that they can maintain these healthy lifestyles long term,” said Karah Stanley, RD, LD.
