Polyp

Updated: 2017-06-13

Overview

A polyp is an abnormal tissue growth on mucous membrane. Polyps are often found in the colon, nose, or womb (uterus). Most polyps are noncancerous, but in some locations may eventually become cancerous.

Treatments

Treatment depends on the polyp location, size, and whether or not they're precancerous.
