  • Do you have concerns about your family history of cancer?
  • Were you diagnosed with breast, ovarian or colon cancer before you were 50?
  • Have any family members had breast, ovarian, colon or uterine cancer at a young age?
  • Have family members on your mom’s or dad’s side had early-onset cancer or multiple cancers?
  • Has anyone in your family had breast cancer more than once?

These are important questions for all of us to ask and if you answered affirmatively to any of them, St. Elizabeth’s Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Program can provide you with some much-needed answers. We are the best at what we do. In fact in the tristate region, we are the only program with a full-time staff of genetic counselors working on-site as an integral part of a Comprehensive Hereditary Breast Cancer Program.

The Invaluable Services We Offer
At the Comprehensive Hereditary Cancer Program, we offer genetic testing for hereditary cancer syndromes and cancer susceptibility to people whose personal or family histories indicate there may be a need for this type of investigation. Genetic test results can then be used to make additional specific screening and health management recommendations. Increased screening for breast and colon cancer in high-risk individuals saves lives.

We offer comprehensive genetic counseling, hereditary cancer risk assessment and high-risk management for:

  • Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer (BRCA1 and BRCA2)
  • Hereditary Non-Polyposis Colorectal Cancer (HNPCC)
  • Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP)
  • Cowden syndrome
  • Li-Fraumeni Syndrome
  • Von Hippel-Lindau syndrome and other rare hereditary cancer syndromes

As a patient at St. Elizabeth, you can rest assured that your health will be managed with the most advanced screening technologies available, including breast MRI. And we always cater your management options to meet your individual needs and goals for healthful living.
