The Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Program at St. Elizabeth Edgewood offers adults with severe mental health issues a structured, nine-hour-a-week group therapy treatment program designed to steer participants safely through their crises.

Each patient receives an individualized treatment plan and case management. Case management may include assistance with medication management, facilitation with employment leave, family conferences, and assistance with referrals for follow-up care upon completion of the program.

The group therapy sessions are led by licensed clinical counselors and social workers and take place at St. Elizabeth Edgewood. The program is supported by psychiatric nurse practitioners and physicians. Most patients attend the program for four to six weeks.

When are the Group Therapy Sessions Held?
Adult sessions: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Adolescent sessions:  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
