Thomas facilities. Edgewood has approximately 500 hospital beds, Florence 200 hospital beds, and Ft. Thomas 200 hospital beds. The pharmacy departments at Edgewood, Florence and Ft. Thomas operate 24 hours a day. The Inpatient Department of Pharmacy utilizes a hybrid model, combining clinical and distributive skills. This model allows for majority of our pharmacy staff to be decentralized, actively participating in patient care on the nursing units. Each pharmacist has the ability to proactively enhance patient care and quality of life by helping to solve health-related problems as they relate to the selection, use, delivery and distribution of pharmaceuticals. Through our unique knowledge of disease states, therapeutics and pharmaceutical science, as well as our ability to communicate effectively and sensitively, we assist in the management of all aspects of patient care. The Inpatient Pharmacy provides outstanding clinical programs including: Antimicrobial Stewardship Family Medicine Resident Rounds Neonatal ICU Rounds Critical Care Mobility Rounds Hospitalist Rounding Emergency Department Service Medication History & Reconciliation Inpatient Congestive Heart Failure Multidisciplinary Rounds Outpatient Congestive Heart Failure Clinic Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) Rounding – Medication Reconciliation and Patient Education COPD Discharge Education Inpatient hospital protocols including, but not limited to: antibiotic pharmacokinetic dosing, anticoagulation management, total parenteral nutrition, renal and hepatic dose adjustments, IV to PO conversion, etc… Outpatient/Ambulatory Services Residents also have opportunity to participate in patient care and leadership activities on the outpatient and ambulatory side of St. Elizabeth Healthcare and St. Elizabeth Physicians. Outpatient pharmacy-driven services include: Five outpatient Medication Management Clinics with collaborative practice agreements encompassing medication management and laboratory monitoring in the following disease states: Hyperlipidemia, Hypertension, Type 2 Diabetes, Tobacco Abuse, Depression, Vitamin D Deficiency, Calcium Deficiency, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Hepatitis, HIV. St. Elizabeth Outpatient Pharmacy offering services including: Discharge Medication Delivery Service and Meds to Beds Specialty Pharmacy St. Elizabeth Physicians (SEP) encompasses 116 physician offices conveniently located across the tri-state, over 367 physicians and 125 advanced practice providers. All striving to deliver high levels of patient-centered medical care to the residents of Northern Kentucky, Southwest Ohio, and Southeast Indiana. SEH also supports a physician Family Medicine Residency with a base of operations at the Family Practice Center, allowing for resident physicians to work alongside pharmacy residents while providing comprehensive evidence-based care to a diverse mix of adults, children and obstetrics patients. Outpatient Oncology Services SEH Cancer Care currently offers infusion services at Edgewood, Ft. Thomas, Grant and Dearborn County, Indiana. Throughout the St. Elizabeth Healthcare system, there are approximately 80 infusion chairs/beds that offer chemotherapy treatments.
