St. Elizabeth Healthcare Administrative Fellowship Our administrative fellowship is a full-time program that offers the flexibility to accommodate an individual's interests with exposure to a broad range of learning opportunities in a large and diverse healthcare system. Throughout this program, fellows will be exposed to senior-level decision-making processes and participate in team decision making activities as well as project work throughout the system. While the program is designed to attract and retain emerging talent in the field of healthcare administration, the fellows will lead and participate in projects that will ultimately contribute value to the organization’s strategic framework and operational initiatives. The fellows will gain exposure to the key service lines, departments and core functions of the organization and gain experiences and benefits from formal, organizational, and professional development opportunities. Additionally, current fellows will serve in a mentor role for incoming fellows through their onboarding process and into the first few months of the fellowship. Fellowship Length: 18 months Preceptors: Fellows are paired with a preceptor based on their professional goals and areas of interest. Preceptors are executive leaders who oversee departments throughout the organization. Past preceptors include President & CEO, St. Elizabeth Provider Network, Senior VP & COO, St. Elizabeth Florence & St. Elizabeth Grant, SVP Human Resources/CHRO, St. Elizabeth Healthcare, and VP Revenue Cycle. Structure: Mix of observational/rotational experience within the organization’s different departments and clinical sectors, along with organized project work throughout the enterprise. Professional Development: Fellows will be given the opportunity to actively participate in meetings, present work to executives and work alongside individuals at all levels within the system. There are also opportunities to develop, both personally and professionally through St. Elizabeth’s Leadership Academy. Application: Our application will open through National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application Service (NAFCAS) in the second round of administrative fellowship applications. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and interviews will be conducted accordingly. Once final applicants are selected, the application will be closed. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (to be requested in the "Supporting Information" quadrant): (1) ACADEMIC, (1) PROFESSIONAL, and (1) OTHER (academic, professional, or letter from your program director. Official Graduate School Transcript (Visit the "Academic History" quadrant to submit colleges attended and to download the Transcript Request Form for your registrar's office. Transcripts should be sent directly from your registrar's office to NAFCAS.) Personal Statement addressing the following questions: Describe your education/career path to date. Jose completed both his Bachelor of Public Health, and MHA at the University of Kentucky. Prior to graduate school, Jose worked as a Research Assistant at the UK Markey Cancer Center and was active in several campus organizations such as the Student Public Health Association and the Latino Student Union. During his time in graduate school, Jose interned with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services under the Senior Advisor for Adult Programs and for UK HealthCare under the Chief Diversity Officer. Jose’s professional interests include finance, strategic planning, and population health. In his free time, Jose enjoys volunteering, coaching youth lacrosse, playing with his orange tabby, and watching UK sports. Alison Peoples Alison Peoples is originally from Greensboro, North Carolina and earned her MHA and Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During graduate school, she earned her CHES and Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. Prior to graduate school, she interned at Novant Health and worked in Community Outreach. She completed her graduate internship at Indiana University Health Riley Hospital for Children. Alison worked as a Graduate Assistant for the Department of Public Health Sciences as an Administrative Assistant and a Teaching Assistant. Her professional interests include human resources and strategic planning. Outside of work, Alison enjoys teaching group fitness classes and spending time with her dog.
