School Affiliation Instructor/Student Guidelines

Instructor/Student Guidelines have been developed to provide a consistent response to questions asked by students, instructors, or hospital personnel working with the students regarding our expectations for nursing student’s clinical experiences here at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. It also provides guidelines for instructors on the clinical placement process within our facility. We will be updating these guidelines as changes or new issues surface. There are two versions of these guidelines.

Magnet Designation Magnet Recognized American Nurses Credentialing Center

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is proud to have received the nursing profession’s highest honor, the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition, system-wide. Magnet is the highest national honor for nursing excellence and provides the ultimate benchmark for patients, their families and our community to measure the quality of care they can expect.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes organizations that meet rigorous standards for nursing excellence. St. Elizabeth Healthcare Florence and Ft. Thomas achieved Magnet recognition, in April 2018, as a reflection of their nursing professionalism, teamwork and superiority in patient care and achieved redesignation in 2023. St. Elizabeth Edgewood, Covington, and Grant were the first hospitals in Greater Cincinnati to achieve Magnet designation in 2006 and achieved their fourth Magnet designation in 2020.
