Overview

Tendinitis is swelling and irritation of the tissues connecting muscle to bone (tendons).

Symptoms

This causes pain around the affected joint, often the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Tendinitis is usually from repeated injury.

Treatments

Rest, ice, and pain relievers can help. Physical therapy and steroid injections may be necessary.
