Tendinitis is swelling and irritation of the tissues connecting muscle to bone (tendons).

This causes pain around the affected joint, often the shoulders, elbows, and wrists. Tendinitis is usually from repeated injury.

Rest, ice, and pain relievers can help. Physical therapy and steroid injections may be necessary.
