Adenocarcinoma is a form of cancer that starts in glandular cells. These cells create and release substances, such as mucus, in the body. Glandular cells are found in tissue that lines certain organs such as the colon, lungs, pancreas and prostate.

Symptoms may include pain in the chest or abdomen, coughing up blood or blood in stool, and weight loss.

Treatment for adenocarcinoma may include surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
