News Room: Sit to Fit Program Offers Fun Way to Exercise

Edgewood, KY—
Bob Roncker’s Running Spot and St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine have teamed up to offer a spring “Sit to Fit” eight-week exercise program to Northern Kentucky residents. The group will meet Mondays and Thursdays for eight weeks beginning on March 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the St. Elizabeth Edgewood Medical Office Building at 20 Medical Village Drive in Edgewood, and Newport on the Levee.

“This is a program targeting individuals who have done little or no exercising, but who would like to begin,” says Bob Roncker, Bob Roncker’s Running Spot. “Many times people are intimidated and fearful of starting something like this. But our Sit to Fit program is a very non-threatening, enjoyable, and sound program that will produce results. At the end of eight weeks, you will be able to complete a 5K or have the confidence knowing you could if you wanted to.”

The groups are designed for beginning walkers, run/walkers or joggers. However, anyone wishing to join is welcome. The sessions are limited to 50 participants to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to receive personal attention. The $50 cost includes technical shirt, technical socks, gift card, training information, health and wellness information, motivational tips, a like-minded group to associate with, and an award celebration to recognize your achievement.

For the first time, the Running Spot is offering the new “Sit to Fit Plus,” a program for individuals seeking a challenge beyond a 5K. It continues the “Sit to Fit” format, but at a higher level which culminates with a 10K. This group will also meet Monday’s and Thursdays for 12 weeks beginning on February 10 at 6:30 p.m. The registration fee is $75.

The goal event for both St. Elizabeth groups is the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon 5K and 10K on Saturday, May 3 which begins and ends in downtown Cincinnati.
