Family Practice Center

Now Accepting New Patients

Partnering With You for Better Health

At the St. Elizabeth Family Practice Center we know that great health takes a group effort. That’s why we form a partnership with you and your family that’s dedicated exclusively to your unique healthcare needs.

Our full-service Edgewood doctors’ office is staffed by a panel of faculty members and 24 resident physicians, who are undergoing three years of intensive study in family medicine. As a result, we are an academic office where you will receive state-of-the-art medical care under the direction of our full-time, board-certified faculty.

Our Services

Though we offer a broad scope of services at the Family Practice Center, it’s important to know that all the care you receive is managed by your personally selected physician. In fact, our patients often tell us how much they appreciate the great access they have to care at our office. This means if you’ve got an urgent problem we’ll see you the day you call. Here’s a summary of the major services we provide:

  • On-site limited lab testing
  • Basic X-ray examinations
  • EKGs
  • Spirometry
  • Colposcopy
  • Flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Nasopharyngoscopy
  • Acupuncture
  • Skin lesion removal

Testing and Results

We believe lab tests should only be performed when necessary to establish a diagnosis, prevent illness or guide treatment. That’s why you can always expect your doctor to discuss with you any testing needed, so you can participate in the decision.

Once your testing is completed, you can expect results within 7 to 10 days. But, we’ll call you if your attention is needed sooner, just as we hope you’ll call us if your results are not received within 7 to 10 days. To ensure that this process goes smoothly, please remember to keep your phone number, address and insurance information updated at our front desk.

Medication Refills

We want you to have the medications you need when you need them. To help that process along, please remember that you should bring all your current medication bottles to every visit.

To obtain regular refills, simply call your pharmacy with any requests and they will contact us. But, be sure to allow at least 24 hours for our office to approve the refill. Please note, however, that some medications will not be refilled without an office appointment and that we will not prescribe or refill controlled substances after office hours.

Billing Information

For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. We’ll also be happy to submit your insurance forms if you’ve provided accurate and current information. But, please remember that co-payments are due at the time of your office visit.

Likewise, since insurance providers do not pay or fully cover certain services, you will be responsible for any additional charges. However, if special financial circumstances arise, don’t hesitate to discuss the situation with our billing office at (859) 301-3810 so that we can arrange a payment plan. You can also direct any questions about charges to this number any weekday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Office Hours and Appointments

You can see a doctor at our Edgewood office six days a week, simply by calling (859) 301-3800 to schedule an appointment. We’re open weekdays from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

On Sundays, holidays and after hours, one of our doctors is always available by telephone. If you have a problem after hours that can’t wait, just call the main office number and a recording will direct you to the doctor on-call. Naturally, if your condition is life-threatening or requires urgent attention, call 911 or go directly to the emergency department. Hospital staff will then notify your Family Practice Center doctor.
