That’s why it’s so important to recognize heart attack symptoms and call 911 right away. We have a highly coordinated process to ensure you receive care as quickly as possible in the early stages of a heart attack, when treatment is most effective. Our Heart Attack Care Team When paramedics determine you’re having a heart attack, they begin lifesaving treatment and notify our Emergency Department – and members of a specialized care team – that they’re on their way, so we’re ready to jump into action when you arrive. A doctor will immediately assess your condition and transport you to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab for a diagnostic angiogram. Treatment may include balloon angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy or a thrombectomy to restore blood flow to your heart.
