We Make Time for You to Rest

The Family Birth Place and Women’s Surgical Unit (1B) at Edgewood are excited to introduce a new program that will better promote mother-baby bonding and patient rest periods while they are staying at St. Elizabeth. This new program is called “Quiet Time”.

Each day from 3:00 – 5:00 a.m. and 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. lights will be dimmed and the noise level will lower in the halls and at the nurses’ stations. Nurses and other staff will refrain from entering patient rooms unless they are requested by the patient, they need to perform an essential task, or the patient has an urgent care need.

Announcements will be made 15 minutes before quiet time begins to notify staff, patients and visitors of the noise level transition. In addition, posters will be placed in waiting areas, encouraging adherence to this policy.
