Feel BettER Friends: St. Elizabeth workers make stuffed animals for kids in the ER

EDGEWOOD, Ky. (WXIX) – When a comfort program at St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s emergency room shut down, two hospital workers started making stuffed animals by hand to give to children coming through the ER doors.

Joan Williams, a St. Elizabeth Healthcare worker, said she did not want any child to feel alone in the emergency room. She combined her interest in sewing with her work in patient care and launched the effort. Her coworker Tiffany Craft joined shortly after. Together, they named the initiative Feel BettER Friends.
