Feeling Sick? Here’s What’s Going Around.

We track the most common symptoms and illnesses affecting our community—from seasonal viruses to trending conditions. Use the dropdown below to learn what’s circulating now and get guidance on where to go for care.

Overview: The influenza virus is a contagious respiratory illness spread mainly by droplets made when coughing, sneezing or talking. Illness can be mild to severe.

Signs & Symptoms: Symptoms range in severity and can include fever, chills, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, muscle/body aches, headache, fatigue, and in some patients, vomiting and diarrhea.
Contagious Period: Flu is most contagious during their first three days of illness but can infect others beginning one day before symptoms develop and up to seven days after.
Where to Go: For prompt non-emergency care, call our FREE 24/7 Nurse Now helpline to guide you to the best care and discuss possible home remedies. Simply call 888-4STE-NOW. If you’re having a medical emergency, dial 911.
How to Prevent Spread: Preventative measures that should be practiced daily are distancing from sick people, covering coughs and sneezes, frequent handwashing, and taking steps for cleaner air. Cleaner air can mean bringing in fresh outside air, purifying indoor air, or gathering outside.
