Dr Michael Kasten is a St. Elizabeth cardiac surgeon who’s at the forefront of expanding treatment options for atrial fibrillation (AFib) and left atrial appendage (LAA) management – a focus he passionately pursued for several years. As Director of Atrial Fibrillation Surgery, he established a dedicated AFib clinic, implementing streamlined care guidelines and evidence-based measures to identify and treat AFib during other heart surgeries. He also serves on national committees, reflecting his commitment to advancing AFib field standards.
