Adolescent Gynecology

Adolescent girls face new questions as their bodies change. St. Elizabeth offers gentle care for teens with clear guidance and expert gynecology support. Our doctors help your teen feel safe, heard and respected during every visit. Most girls benefit from a first gynecology visit between the ages of 13 and 15.  We address early menstrual issues, breast changes, pelvic pain, sexual health questions and early HPV vaccine questions. Parents stay informed, and teens gain a sense of control over their health.

What To Expect During the First Gynecology Visit

A first gynecology visit may feel new, but our team keeps each step simple. We move at your pace and explain each part of the visit before any exam or care takes place. Your doctor will review your health history, answer your questions and complete an exam only when it fits your needs. You leave the visit with clear next steps and a plan you can trust.

Why Teens and Parents Trust Our OB-GYN Team

Our doctors know how to support teens with early female-health needs, such as early and delayed puberty, menstrual pain, irregular periods, breast changes, STI concerns and more. We explain care in simple terms and protect your privacy at all times. Your teen feels calm and supported, and you feel confident about the care she receives.

Common Gynecology Questions from Teens and Parents

A teen may need support for period concerns, breast changes, pelvic pain or questions about development. Our doctors give clear answers that help your teen understand her body and feel secure.

An OB-GYN supports pelvic pain, irregular periods, breast concerns, fertility questions and reproductive health issues. Teens may transition to an OB-GYN when they need specialty care beyond pediatrics or primary care.

Most first visits do not include a pelvic exam. The doctor talks with your teen, reviews your teens health history and moves to an exam only when there is a real health need.

You may stay in the room if your teen feels more at ease with you there. The doctor may also ask for a few private minutes with your teen to support her comfort and privacy.

Most patients do not need a referral. You can call our office directly or call 1 (800) 737-7900 to schedule an appointment.
