CINCINNATI (WKRC) – New research published in the journal “Nature Communications” suggests that breastfeeding may have a significant impact on a baby’s gut health, potentially influencing it for life.

Baby Winston, just 18 days old, is already benefiting from the advantages of breast milk, according to his care team at Saint Elizabeth Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. His mother, Lauren Rankin, has prioritized providing breast milk during these early days. “I try to pump every two to three hours,” Rankin said.
