Breathing. It affects every single moment of our lives. So, for those with a breathing condition or impairment, the result is quite often constant debilitation. But it doesn’t have to be.

The caring professionals with St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s pulmonary rehabilitation program help hundreds of people to fuller, happier lives every year, and together, we can accomplish the same for you.

About Our Unique Program
Patients participating in our eight-week pulmonary rehabilitation program typically meet for two or three therapy sessions weekly. At these sessions, experts provide the vital support and information you and your family needs to meet the daily challenges of living with a chronic lung disorder.

The beauty of pulmonary rehabilitation is that it works to both prevent and improve many of the problems experienced by those with a breathing condition. As a result, people who participate in pulmonary rehabilitation tend to live longer, with a better quality of life and fewer hospitalizations.

At St. Elizabeth Healthcare, we work with you to improve your diet, exercise and behavioral habits in ways that lessen the impact of your condition. Once the impairment is tamed in these ways, the quality of your life improves, both physically and mentally.

Our caring professionals work with you through a program of supervised exercise training. And treatment is individualized to your precise needs to provide you with all the education, exercise, breathing retraining and coping skills you need to live life to the fullest.

In short, those who participate in our pulmonary rehab program learn the keys to achieving optimum physical and mental health with a maximum level of independence. They have learned that they can thrive, even while living with a breathing disorder.

Our participants are rewarded with:

  • Less time in the hospital
  • Higher levels of physical activity
  • Fewer breathing complications and symptoms
  • Better self-images
  • More knowledge about their disorders
