This program allows us to fill prescriptions for patients with critical and complex conditions, such as cancer, HIV and hep C. These medications require closer monitoring than other maintenance medications and our Specialty Pharmacists play an important role in the continuum of care by counseling patients as well as coordinating the prescription process with your physicians and the entire care team. We’ll answer your questions, assist you in managing side effects and lend additional support. Our Specialty Team Our dedicated team of pharmacists, nurses, patient care coordinators and specialty technicians work in cooperation with your provider to coordinate your specialty care. Our 24-hour support line is dedicated to answering your medication questions no matter what time of day. Our patient care coordinators will contact you prior to each refill to arrange your next prescription. They will also discuss any medication barriers that you may be experiencing, such as administration difficulties, side effects or cost concerns. Proactive Refills and Renewals We will contact you one week before your prescription is due to run out to schedule a refill of your medication. We will also contact your doctor to verify your therapy and obtain a new prescription if you do not have refills remaining. Billing and Financial Assistance Some medications require complex documentation for costs to be covered. Our reimbursement specialists will help maximize the benefits or your health plan. They also have the relationships and knowledge to help patients enroll in existing assistance programs. We work along with your provider to make sure you can afford your medication.
