St. Elizabeth Edgewood Orthopaedics Program Nationally Recognized

Written by St. Elizabeth Healthcare

For the first time, St. Elizabeth Edgewood has been recognized as “High Performing” by U.S. News & World Report for orthopaedics. This prestigious honor places our orthopaedic program as one of the best in the nation and one of the premier facilities in the region, further cementing the quality of orthopaedic care St. Elizabeth provides our patients and community.

The "high performing" designation places Edgewood in the top 10% of hospitals nationally for orthopaedics based on U.S. News’ measurement criteria, including factors related to clinical outcomes, patient experience, surgeon expertise, and other care-related indicators. Edgewood is also one of the top two hospitals in the state of Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati for orthopaedics. This is a testament to the high-quality care provided through the Orthopaedic Institute, a partnership between St. Elizabeth and OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.

St. Elizabeth scored particularly strong in patient discharges to home, high surgery volume, high nursing staff-to-patient ratios, use of advanced technology and overall patient services.

U.S. News & World Report began publishing hospital rankings in 1990 to identify the best medical centers for patients whose illnesses pose unusual challenges due to underlying conditions, procedure difficulty or other medical issues that add risk. The U.S. News Best Hospitals ranking helps consumers find skilled inpatient care and choose specialty hospitals and physicians per city, state and region. US News covers nearly 5,000 medical centers and 16 medical specialties from Cancer to Urology across the country.
