Robert’s Hip Replacement

Total Hip Replacement Surgery

Robert Pettit didn’t have the pain normally associated with osteoarthritis in his hips, but he had lost significant range of motion. After noticing he could barely bend to put his socks on, he went to see Dr. Matthew S. Grunkemeyer, affiliated orthopaedic surgeon with OrthoCincy Orthopeadics & Sports Medicine.

Dr. Grunkemeyer said the x-rays showed his joint was bone-on-bone and recommend total joint replacement. Robert chose the award-winning Orthopaedic team at St. Elizabeth. Robert found the preparation for surgery beneficial, from the informative orientation class to the guided tour of where his surgery would take place.

Listen to Robert share more of his story.
