Neuro-oncology is a specialty which involves the management of cancerous tumors of the nervous system (also known as primary and metastatic nervous system neoplasms), neurologic complications of cancer, and neurologic complications resulting from cancer therapies. Our Neuro-oncology specialist is specifically trained in two medical specialties (neurology and oncology), which together define Neuro-oncology as a unique and important science. Training in neurology allows for proper diagnosis and assessments of patients’ nervous system functions. Training in oncology provides expertise in cancer treatments and support.
