Alzheimer's Care

Alzheimer's Support Group
This support group is for alzheimer's caregivers and their patients or loved ones who suffer from memory loss. It meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (Ft. Thomas) and on the 4th Tuesday of each month from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. (Florence).

*Please Note: Caregiving for the Alzheimer's patient is available during the meetings. Talk to the group leader about this service.

Caregiver Support Group
This support group meeets on the 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. to learn from professionals on topics such as financial planning, Medicare, and housing alternatives.

Breast Cancer Support Group

Cancer Return to Fitness
This is a small group exercise class for cancer patients that meets on Thursday evenings.
Where: St. Elizabeth Edgewood
Cost: $10 ($7 St. Elizabeth Cancer Patients) or $80 for 10 classes. To register, call (859) 301-5959.

Helping Each Other
This group is for women who have been touched by breast cancer. It meets on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Look Good, Feel Better
This program is sponsored by the American Cancer Society (ACS) and helps women deal with the physical effects of chemotherapy and radiation.

Man to Man
This prostate cancer support group is sponsored by the American Cancer Society. It meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m.

Reach to Recovery
This group offers one-on-one support for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. The American Cancer Society will set you up with a survivor who can help you through your emotional journey.

Diabetes

Diabetes Self Management Group
This group is designed to help educate individuals aobut how to best manage diabetes in their day-to-day lives. It meets on the 3rd Thursday of every other month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Holistic Health

Smoking Cessation
This group is facilitated by a former smoker. Methods for coping with cravings, stress, and weight gain are included in the group discussions. It meets every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: St. Elizabeth Edgewood Holistic Health Center

Cost: $5 per session (the approximate cost of 1 pack of cigarettes). A four-week commitment is requested so that success can be supported
