Women's Outpatient Services Department

Women's Outpatient Services, adjacent to The Family Birth Place, provides a multitude of health care services for women. Services related to pregnancy include: obstetrical ultrasound and other prenatal testing, scheduled births by cesarean, pre-admission education, diabetes management and lacatation counseling.

Women's Outpatient Surgery

The Women's Outpatient Surgery Unit is the setting for gynecological procedures as well as scheduled cesarean sections. Women scheduled for a cesarean receive care from skilled staff in this very private, comfortable atmosphere.

Obstetrical Ultrasound and Perinatal Testing Unit

The obstetrical ultrasound unit, the first of its kind in the Northern Kentucky area, is fully accredited by both the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the American College of Radiology. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, most of whom are also registered nurses with extensive experience in obstetrical care, team with maternal-fetal medicine specialists in managing patients with high-risk or complicated pregnancies. In addition to obstetrical ultrasound, a physician may order a variety of tests to keep a close watch on the progress of mother and baby. Non-invasive fetal monitoring tests include nonstress tests. (NST), biophysical profile (BPP), or contraction stress test (CST). Maternal fetal medicine specialists perform amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling (CVS), fetal blood sampling, diabetes management and other procedures or consultation, as requested by your physician.
