About the St. Elizabeth Union Diagnostic Center

People in Union, Richwood, Burlington, Florence and surrounding areas have a convenient resource for diagnostic tests and therapy services. Located on Old Union Road in Union, St. Elizabeth Medical Center’s Union Diagnostic Center offers easily accessible outpatient services closer to home. We provide a wide range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services to the community. Services include laboratory, radiology, EKG, holter and event monitors as well as physical and speech therapy services. The mobile mammography van comes to this site quarterly.
Hours of Operation/Scheduling an Appointment
Diagnostic Services are walk in. The hours of operation for lab, x-ray and ekg are 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the last x-ray and specimen taken at 4:20 p.m.

Diagnostic Services Offered
Cardiac Services
Both holter and event monitors are available at the Diagnostic center. Patients wear this device during normal day to day activities. This device allows the physician to study a patient’s heart rhythm. You must call ahead to schedule an appointment.

Laboratory
This site provides lab services for blood draw and collection. Most specimens are sent by courier to the main hospital for processing. However, some specimens require being sent to reference labs.
Radiology
We perform non contrast diagnostic x-rays. We treat all ages from pediatric through the geriatric population. Physician's order is required for this type of procedure. All x-rays are read by a radiologist and are stored. Results are usually available within 48 hours through your ordering physician.

Speech Therapy
Speech Pathology services at the Union Diagnostic Center include a full range of outpatient evaluations and treatments for children and adults with communication disorders. A comprehensive diagnostic assessment of all aspects of communication is offered. It includes treatment, goal planning, patient and family education and recommendations to additional resources if needed. Diagnosis and treatment for speech and language delays and disorders, fluency, voice, swallowing, motor speech disorders and cognitive dysfunction and language learning disabilities are provided. In addition, treatment for communication disorders resulting from stroke, hearing loss, head injury, and congenital anomalies such as cleft lip and palate, apraxia, and laryngectomy can also be treated. Individual and small group speech therapy is available with observation rooms provided for parents, spouses and caregivers.
