A Center Designed for the Comfort, Care and Convenience of Patients

The Esther Marie Hatton Cancer Care Center was dedicated in 2000, more than doubling the size of the previous facility and enhancing the comfort and privacy for patients and families. The design evokes a sense of the life-giving forces of nature, utilizing curved rather than straight lines as well as leaves, shells and other natural motifs in the decor.

The large reception area is supplied with refreshments and activities for patient comfort while waiting for treatment.

The "Vision of a Cure" Resource Center, named in honor of St. Elizabeth employees who gave a half million dollars to build the cancer center, offers materials for lending to patients, families, staff and the community. Media include books, pamphlets, tapes, videos, CDs, cancer software and Internet resources.

In-depth cancer information is provided through a link from the St. Elizabeth website.

The Meditation Room, located off the reception area, offers patients a quiet, calm, relaxing area for prayer and reflection.

The mission of the Esther Marie Hatton Cancer Care Center is to provide the highest quality, personalized care to cancer patients and their families with the fullest respect for the dignity of the individual and their physical, psychological, sociological and spiritual needs.

The Cancer Center is named after Esther Marie Hatton. Her husband, the late Dr. E. Kenneth Hatton, gave a generous gift to build the center and asked that it be named in memory of his beloved wife who lost her life to cancer.
