Ruth Henthorn, MSN, RN, NEA-BC
Vice President, Post-Acute/Clinical Services

Ruth Henthorn currently serves as Vice President of Post Acute and Clinical Services for St. Elizabeth Healthcare. She is licensed as a Registered Nurse in Ohio and Kentucky and has 43 years of healthcare experience.

Ms. Henthorn received her diploma from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Thomas More College in 1985 and a master of science in nursing from Northern Kentucky University in 1999.

Ms. Henthorn has served in various roles throughout her career.  At the former St. Elizabeth North, she served as Staff Nurse/Charge Nurse in the medical/surgical intensive care unit from 1968 to 1973 and as Area Supervisor from 1973 to 1984). She then served as Clinical Director of Critical Care from 1984 to 1996) and Assistant Vice President of Nursing from 1996 to 2008. She has overseen various nursing divisions including intensive care units, emergency departments, therapy and special services.

In her current role Ms. Henthorn’s is a member of the Administrative Council with system responsibilities for Post Acute Services including Skilled Nursing Units, Health Ministries, Inpatient and Outpatient Wound Care, Infection Control, Regional Diabetes Center, Dialysis, Hospice Program, Palliative Care Service and Emergency Management for the Edgewood, Covington and Grant County campuses. She reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Nursing for the health system.

Ms. Henthorn is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in Nursing from the College of Mount St. Joseph in 2009.
