FIRST LOOK: St. Elizabeth reveals Super Bowl ad

Written by Barrett J. Brunsman

St. Elizabeth Healthcare today revealed a TV commercial that will air throughout Greater Cincinnati during the Super Bowl.

The 60-second ad titled “I’m Right Here” will make its television debut on WLWT (Channel 5) to kick off a new marketing campaign for the hospital system.

However, you can watch the commercial now by clicking here.

I previously broke the news that St. E had made the commercial, but it wasn't until today that the Edgewood-based system released it to the public.

The ad will air just before the halftime show of Super Bowl LII, which will be televised Feb. 4 on WLWT and other NBC affiliates. The New England Patriots will play the Philadelphia Eagles at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m.

The commercial also will be shown locally when WLWT broadcasts the Winter Olympic Games, which will take place in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Feb. 8-25.

The St. E campaign will include variations of the 60-second TV commercial, including 30-second and 15-second spots. There also will be a 6-second version for digital ads.

More than a dozen St. Elizabeth employees helped make the commercial.

While the ad is general in scope, future marketing will focus on the various St. E service lines, including a planned $130 million cancer center.

St. Elizabeth worked on the commercial with the GSW ad agency in Columbus.

The spot was directed by Rob Meltzer of Granite Grove in Granite Bay, Calif. He is best known for the online film for Unilever’s Dove Men+Care brand “Calls for Dad,” which aired during the 2015 Super Bowl.

The St. E commercial is evocative of the “Thank You Mom” ad campaign of Procter & Gamble Co., the Cincinnati-based maker of consumer goods such as Crest toothpaste. P&G, which is the nation’s largest advertiser, creates many commercials with viewers of the Super Bowl and the Olympics in mind.
