St. Elizabeth Healthcare Nurse Aide Training and Competency Program
The purpose of the NATCEP is to prepare the nurse aide to provide high quality direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. A primary goal of the NATCEP is to ensure the availability of a well-structured, uniform curriculum across the state that will provide a foundation for high quality nurse aide services.
A nurse aide is defined as an individual who has successfully completed a NATCEP program. This includes nursing students, medication aides and those employed through nursing pools providing nursing or related services to nursing facility residents.
Upon completion of a NATCEP program a nurse aide will have a working knowledge of the physiological, psychological and sociological impact of institutionalization on the nursing facility resident.
The NATCEP program at St. Elizabeth Healthcare is a 10-day class offered at various times throughout the year. Evening classes are offered two times per year. The cost for the class is $425.00. Students are also registered for the state test on the first day of school, which is an additional cost of $75.00 payable to Gateway Community and Technical College.
The program is available online for the nursing or pre-nursing student (Must show proof of admission to college or university) for $495.00. The classes are held at the North Unit on 20th Street in Covington. Clinical experience will be held at St. Elizabeth Ft. Thomas in the Skilled Nursing Facility.
