What is Holistic Health?
In an effort to assist the body in functioning optimally and utilize its natural healing powers whenever possible, St. Elizabeth Healthcare Holistic Health Services offers a blend of both traditional Eastern medicine and modern Western medicine.
The term “holistic”, as used by St. Elizabeth Healthcare, means “taking into consideration the full person, not just a set of symptoms.” The body, the mind, and the spirit (which includes lifestyle choices, mood, energy level, stressors, occupation, relationships, sleep, food choices, etc.) of an individual are considered.
When a person seeks a consultation with Dr. Gregory Koo, St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s holistic health physician, they are given the benefit of a “hybrid” of treatments including “traditional” medicine (prescribed drugs, X-rays/CT scans, MRI, stress test, lab work, surgery) and holistic/natural medicine (vitamins and herbs, acupuncture, massage, reflexology, stress management, Yoga, Tai Chi).
"Ask the Doctor" seminar: Heart Health and Acupuncture
Throughout the year, Dr. Gregory Koo, Medical Director for St. Elizabeth Holistic Health will host free informal seminars at the Holistic Health Center.
The main topic for this first seminaar is "Heart Health and Acupuncture". Dr. Koo will begin by giving a general overview of the featured subject. Attendees will then be given an opportunity to ask questions. Questions do not need to be limited to the evening’s topic.
