Toshiba Aquilion One 320-Slice CT Scanner

Total Cost: $3.4 million

Simply put, this is the most powerful X-ray imaging device on the planet, and later
this year, St. Elizabeth will become one of just five hospitals in the world to have one. The Toshiba Aquilion Dynamic Volume computed tomography scanner is the next great leap in medical imaging, but this year St. Elizabeth will become the only Tristate hospital offering its benefits to our patients. This CT scanner is nothing short of a revolution in the diagnosis and prevention of leading killers like heart disease and stroke. Here are some of the capabilities:

  • Detects and measures toothpick-thin blockages in blood vessels and subtle changes in blood flow
  • Creates flawless three-dimensional images of organs, non-invasively, in under a second
  • Improves treatment options by cutting diagnosis time to minutes
  • Reduces radiation dose and need for multiple tests in various locations
  • Enables earlier diagnosis of heart disease, preventing death and disability

Mobile Health Screening Vans

Total Cost: $1.5 million

These state-of-the art, fully equipped and staffed mobile health screening vans
extend the medical center’s reach into the community and enhance wellness across the region. By taking our care and services to outlying areas and large employers, St. Elizabeth boosts the health of the entire community by promoting wellness, actively reducing health risks and healthcare costs and enhancing workforce productivity. Our rolling screening unit offers the following benefits:

  • Delivers the medical center’s technology and experience directly to those who need it at their workplaces, churches, pharmacies and fitness centers
  • Supports the prevention and reduction of heart disease, cancer and diabetes through health-risk appraisals, medical counseling and early-stage detection of illnesses
  • Takes basis and advanced medical test to those unwilling or unable to travel to healthcare providers for blood pressure, vascular and glucose screenings, echocardiograms, electrocardiograms, bone-density ultrasounds, pulmonary function testing, physical exams and immunizations
  • Enhances workplace productivity and health since employees don’t have to miss work to seek medical advice
  • Extends the reach of our services and expertise into outlying communities of our service area.
