At SEMC Federal Credit Union you are not a just a respected customer, you are also a member and owner of this unique financial organization. That's because our credit union is a financial cooperative, which was founded – like St. Elizabeth Healthcare - on the principle of people helping people. We know that we’re all better together and that makes a huge difference for all who do business here.
For instance, the money that our members deposit as savings enables other members to borrow. And, the interest earned on those loans helps pay dividends on our savings accounts. In other words, SEMC Federal Credit Union is a place where all our members help each other every day.
It all goes back to the very foundation of the whole credit union movement, which has always focused on member service. We want to make a positive difference in the lives of our members and for the community as a whole, whether that means financially counseling a member whose struggling, or just offering a better deal on a car loan.
In fact, industry research even proves that credit union customers are among the happiest in the financial field. For instance, for the last 21 consecutive years credit unions have ranked No. 1 in consumer satisfaction in the American Banker/Gallup Consumer Survey. And, credit unions ranked higher for trustworthiness and service in the survey than any other financial institution.
