Daniel Buck, M.D.

Dr. Daniel Buck grew up on a small farm in North Eastern Oregon. He is a graduate of the University of Utah where heearned his bachelor of science in biology and his doctorate of medicine.

After medical school Dan began his career in surgery and has also been self-employed in general practice and orthopaedics. Being licensed in Arizona, Colorado and Indiana has allowed him to work as a traveling physician.

Dan chose St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency because he was impressed with the teamwork between residents and faculty, the high number of hospital procedures and the Sports Medicine Fellowship, as he hopes to pursue Sports Medicine following his residency.

Dan considers his greatest accomplishments in life to be his wife of 20 years, Timani, and their 8 children. Outside of medicine, he enjoys his family, running, swimming, cycling, reading and cooking BBQ.


Kimberly Case, M.D.

Dr. Kimberly Case is from the rural town of Waddy, Kentucky where she attended Shelby County High School. She is a graduate of the University of Louisville where she earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She completed her clinical rotations in Madisonville, Kentucky at the University of Louisville, Trover Campus.

Kimberly chose St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency because she wanted to complete her training in an unopposed, community-based atmosphere. After residency, she hopes to practice in a small town similar to her hometown.

In her spare time, Kimberly enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family and gardening.


Brandon Cowan, M.D.

Dr. Brandon Cowan is originally from Eubank Kentucky. He joined the military immediately after high school and, although he served as an infantryman in Iraq, it was there that he gained a profound respect and passion for the field of medicine.

Following his military service, Brandon earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Eastern Kentucky University and completed his medical degree at the University of Kentucky.

Brandon chose St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency because of the amazing atmosphere and sincere commitment to training well-rounded physicians immediately capable of practicing in any clinical setting. He has a wide array of interests within the medical field including inpatient medicine, procedures and sports medicine, and felt that St. Elizabeth could provide him with opportunities in all of these areas because the program is unopposed.

Brandon also really appreciates the location of St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Having grown up in rural Kentucky and worked in cities across the country, he feels that Northern Kentucky’s proximity to both the Greater Cincinnati area and the rolling hills of the blue grass provide the perfect combination to make anyone feel at home.


Heidi Franz, M.D.

Dr. Heidi Franz was born in Glen Dale, West Virginia and grew up in West Chester, Ohio. She is a graduate of Wheaton College in Illinois where she earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and a certificate in human needs and global resources. She earned her medical degree from Medical School for International Health, Ben Gurion University in Israel.

Heidi’s desire is to pursue global medicine. She was drawn to St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency because she believes it will prepare her to work in any setting from rural South Sudan, to the inner cities of India, to the suburbs of West Chester.

Outside of medicine Heidi enjoy swing dancing; aerial silks; traveling the world and anything that allows her to be outdoors, such as hiking, white water rafting, or simply sitting on a porch drinking iced tea. She believes her purpose in life is to love God and her family and friends and to care for those who cross her path.


Brad Kelly, D.O.

Dr. Brad Kelly grew up in Georgetown, Kentucky. He earned his bachelor of science in biology from the University of Kentucky and attended medical school at the University of Pikeville Kentucky, College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Having done his third and fourth year medical school rotations through St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Brad credits his decision to stay here for residency to the outstanding faculty and influential and supportive residents. He is looking forward to continuing his training at this distinguished and unopposed program knowing that the quality of training he will get will ultimately make him an excellent and well-rounded family physician.

Brad and his wife, Elizabeth, are music enthusiasts and have been to over 60 concerts together since they started dating in high school. They enjoy spending time with their families and with their cat, Barney. They are also die-hard UK basketball fans.


Faisal Khatri, M.D.

Dr Faisal Khatri was born in Pakistan and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 8. He attended Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati for undergraduate studies.

Prior to attending medical school at Saba University, Faisal spent 5 years in the US Army as a medical specialist, working under primary care physicians and kindling his passion for family medicine. He also enjoyed a 5 year career in sales and management.

Faisal chose St Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency because it is an unopposed program with a medicine intensive curriculum. Additionally, the program offered a well-developed evidence based obstetrical experience including the obstetrics fellowship and gave him the opportunity to be in his home town for residency.

Faisal has a passion for his family, which includes wife Megan and 4 lovely children, and for holistic nutrition as the foundation for health. He enjoys wrestling with his children, sustainable living, spending time outdoors and playing basketball and flag football. He and his family are also active in community building and service in the Cincinnati area.


Alisha Rust, D.O.

Dr. Alisha Rust was born and raised in Cold Spring, Kentucky and has always called the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region home. She is a graduate of the College of Mount St. Joseph where she earned her bachelor of science in biology. It was there where she developed her interest in service, medicine and global health.

Upon completion of her bachelor's degree, Alisha entered into a 10 month volunteer program with the Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati. During that year; she split her time between two ministries: The Women's Connection in Price Hill and Santo Nino Project in Anapra, Mexico. She attended medical school at the University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine.

During her residency, Alisha hopes to continue exploring her interests in community and global health and preventative medicine. She is also hoping to gain additional experience in the areas of adolescent medicine and behavioral health.

Outside of the hospital, Alisha and her husband like to cheer on the Reds, hike and fish, spend time with their families, go to church and play with their lab rescue, Sheena.


Seth Vensil, M.D.

Dr. Seth Vensil was born and raised near Zanesville, Ohio. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati where he earned degrees in both chemistry and biology. He attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine.

Seth chose St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency because of the unique opportunities of an unopposed program, as well as the amazing faculty, staff and residents he encountered during his clinical rotations.

Outside of medicine, Seth and his wife Leah enjoy UC sporting events, catching an occasional Reds game and exploring new places. They also enjoy being Bearcats and have served on a few alumni committees together.
