About the Compensation and Benefits of Our Program
St. Elizabeth values your years of preparation and offers a competitive stipend and benefits compensation program.
Our residents receive the following:
- Stipend (salaries listed are for academic year 2012-2013 and are adjusted annually)
- First year residents: $53,500
- Second year residents: $55,000
- Third year residents: $56,500
- Free meals and a weekly dinner for your family
- Ample moonlighting available in-house to Second- and Third-year residents
- Electronic software for resident education
- Paid CME attendance at medical meetings up to $1,100 in the first year, $1,200 in the second year, and $1,300 in the third year
- Moving allowance of $500, one time payment
- Vacation PGY 1: Three weeks/ PGY 2 & 3: Four weeks
- Six paid holidays
- Clothing allowance: $100 plus three white lab coats in PGY 1 and $100 in PGY 2 & 3
- Medical and dental insurance

- Term life insurance policy equal to your salary
- Comfortable on-call quarters
- Fees paid for your membership to professional organizations
- Recreation and exercise area in hospital
