Benita Utz currently serves as Vice President of Patient Services for St. Elizabeth Florence, Ft. Thomas and Falmouth. She was previously Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Services for the former St. Luke Hospitals. She has more than 30 years of progressive healthcare experience in the Northern Kentucky area.
Ms. Utz graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) in 1978 and a master in nursing administration from Bellarmine University in Louisville in 1995. She also completed post-graduate studies at Northern Kentucky University and obtained her advanced practice registered nurse degree in 2001.
Ms. Utz came to St. Elizabeth Healthcare with the merger of the former St. Luke Hospitals and St. Elizabeth Medical Center in 2008. She previously served in the following positions: Chief Nursing Officer, St. Luke Hospitals from 2006 to 2008; Director of Patient Services, St. Luke Hospitals/Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati from 2002 to 2006; Family Nurse Practitioner, Walton Patient First Physician Group from 2001 to 2005; Clinical Manager leadership positions from 1991 to 2002 and Diabetes Program Manager from 1989 to 1991. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an Advanced Nursing Executive (NEA-BC).
Ms. Utz has contributed to the overall improvements in patient care throughout the healthcare system and community. In addition to the merger of the former St. Luke Hospitals and St. Elizabeth Medical Center, she was also involved with the integrations of the former Booth/St. Luke Hospitals and the former St. Luke Hospitals/Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.
