Our Fall High School Volunteer Program requires high school students to volunteer from October - December, with mandatory placement appointments and training for new volunteers in September. Students generally volunteer a single regularly scheduled 3-4 hour shift each week. Documentation of service hours will not be provided until the volunteer completes the minimum commitment of 10 weeks of service during the program dates. The minimum age to volunteer in this program is 14. If you can meet this commitment, please follow the process outlined below for how to become a volunteer. 1. Review our High School Volunteer Programs at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Overview to learn more about our programs and their requirements. 2. Register for one REQUIRED High School Volunteer Orientation and watch for e-mail confirmation with additional requirements (New High School Volunteer Packet explained in step #3). Both Orientations are at the St. Elizabeth Edgewood location (1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, KY 41017). Register by choosing the location you would like to volunteer at this Fall; then choose the Orientation date you would prefer to attend. NOTE: If you have previously volunteered at St. Elizabeth, do not register for a Teen Volunteer Training; please call (859) 301-2140. 3. Complete New High School Volunteer Packet with required paperwork, online application and online training; this packet will be sent to your e-mail address within a few days of registering for a New Volunteer Orientation. NOTE: All items listed on the Packet Checklist must be completed prior to attending your pre-registered New Volunteer Orientation. Failure to complete these requirements may result in you being unable to attend the orientation and will limit you to non-nursing unit and non-emergency department volunteer positions. We look forward to having you join our Volunteer Team! If you have questions, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call (859) 301-2140.
