News Room: St. Elizabeth Physicians to Open Three Urgent Care Centers

Crestview Hills, KY – St. Elizabeth Physicians has opened three urgent care centers as part of its growing network of walk-in convenient care services. The three centers were part of the Hometown Urgent Care centers in Northern Kentucky. The physicians and staff at these centers are now a part of the St. Elizabeth network. At a St. Elizabeth Physicians Urgent Care center, patients will be able to receive medical attention for common illnesses and minor injuries without an appointment seven days a week.

The three urgent care locations include 4387 Winston Avenue in Covington, 8460 U.S. Highway 42 in Florence, and 2091 North Bend Road in Hebron, with a Ft. Thomas location coming soon. All locations will have access to the same electronic medical records as every other St. Elizabeth facility, meaning patients’ medications, allergies and medical history will already be known to the urgent care staff.

“We are excited to expand our convenient care services network to better meet the needs of our patients and community,” says Dr. Glenn Loomis, President and CEO of St. Elizabeth Physicians. “We want to make sure that people have access to quality urgent care no matter where they live, work or play.”

St. Elizabeth Physicians Urgent Care Centers help with injuries and illnesses for all ages that require medical attention on the same day without an appointment. Doctors provide walk-in service for:

  • Earache, fever and sore throat
  • Headaches including migraines
  • Minor burns and cuts requiring stitches
  • Rashes, poison ivy and allergic reactions
  • Sprains, strains and minor fractures
  • Upper respiratory infections, flu symptoms and allergies
  • Wheezing and asthma flares
  • Additional services include same-day sports physicals (not billed through insurance), lab services, blood work and x-rays.

St. Elizabeth Physicians Urgent Care and Express Care locations all accept the major commercial insurance plans, Medicare and Medicaid, and offer affordable self-pay rates.

In addition to the acquisition of the Hometown Urgent Care Clinics, St. Elizabeth Physicians has plans to open a second Express Care location in Independence this winter and a fourth Urgent Care location in Ft. Thomas in early 2014.
